Direct flights from Bangkok to Nha Trang (Cam Ranh airport) were opened for the first time by the pioneer Bangkok Airways.
On 25th January, 2019, the very first directly flight from Bangkok to Nha Trang, Vietnam has been successfully operated by Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited. Accordingly, there’ll be 04 flights operated every week starting on 25 Jan (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) by Airbus A319 aircraft with 144- seats.
Situated on the Southeastern cost of Vietnam, Nha Trang is being seemed as one of the most desired beach holiday destinations for travelers all over the worlds and especially European visitors. Together with the support of Vietnamese Government (by offering the 15 days visa free for tourists from England, France, Spain, Italy and Germany,etc), Nha Trang is being an ideal tourist destination and Bangkok Airways is pleased to operate the direct flight connecting 02 beautiful cities. Besides the direct flight to Nha Trang, Bangkok Airs has already successfully in operating its direct flight from Bangkok to Danang, Phu Quoc and from Chiangmai –Hanoi in early May, 2016, Oct 2018 & Mar 2018 respectively.
As mentioned, Bangkok Airways will offer four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday Friday and Sunday) with a 144-seater Airbus A319 aircraft. Accordingly, the outbound flight PG993 will depart Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 10: 20 and arrive Cam Ranh International Airport (Nha Trang) at 12:05 whereas the inbound flight PG994 will depart from Cam Ranh Airport at 12:55 and arrive Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 14:40 (local time)
Bangkok Airways puts into operation more flights between Bangkok and Mandalay (Myanmar)
In order to meet the rising demand, Bangkok Airways announced to add more directly flights between Bangkok and Mandalay (Myanmar) on 17 December, 2018, increasing the number of flights being operated per week to 14. Accordingly, the flights are serving every day by 144-seater Airbus A319 aircraft, departing from Bangkok at 17:00 and arriving to Mandalay International Airport at 18:25 (PG713) whereas the flight from Mandalay departing at 19:15 and arriving at 21:40 (PG714) (local time)
An announcement for the affected MacBook Pro onboard
According to the disclosure and warning of EASA SIB 2017-1, regarding the recall of portable electronic devices due to issues with batteries especially the recall of Mac Book Pro units supplied by Apple Inc. between September 2015 and February 2017 and only selected product serial numbers are affected.
Therefore, passenger who has the affected Mac book Pro will need to be show the proof that the Mac book in fixed to our check-in counter staffs, otherwise you may need to switched off the device or not being allowed to charge throughout the flight.
A new Passenger Lounges at Phuket International Airport has been introduced by Bangkok Airways from 31 August, 2019.
Accordingly, the new Passenger Lounges’ located near gate 4 on the 2nd floor of Domestic Departure Terminal, promising to offers a comfort and convenient space for Bangkok Airlines’ passengers while waiting for the upcoming flights. The opening time is from 04:30 to 22:00 every day. Passengers of Bangkok Airways will have more choices for their relaxing time with multitude of complimentary snacks and drinks, magazines, newspapers and free Wi-fi Internet access.

On 09 July, 2019, a leading global travel date provider OAG, which has been powering the growth and innovation of the air travel ecosystem since 1929, has recognized Bangkok Airways is the only Thai Carrier in the 5 star ratings based on its On-time Performance (OTP) of 87.4% measured between Jun2018- May 2019. Furthermore, under the administration of Bangkok Airways, Samui Airport has likewise achieved 5-star rating for its punctuality performance of 88.5%
In addition, Samui Airport which is under the administration of Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited, has also achieved 5-star ratings for its punctuality performance of 88.5 percent.

The latest ATR 72-600 Aircraft is welcomed by Bangkok Airways
On 14th May 2019, the brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft is welcomed by not only the airlines but also by– AM. Dechit Chareonwong, Vice President of Flight Operations (3th from right) and the airline’ pilots at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
There are improvements in the design in this new generation ATR-600 that will bring comfort to passengers. The newly delivered ATR 72-600 will be added to the services on domestic flights such as Sukhothai, Trat, Lampang, Samui (Surat Thani), Phuket, Krabi and Hat Yai (Songkhla). Currently, Bangkok Airways’ fleet consists of 40 aircrafts; 2 ATR72-500s, 13 ATR72-600s, 16 A319s, and 9 A320s.
Two new direct routes Chiang Mai-Krabi and Chiang Mai-Luang Prabang (Laos) are lauched by Bangkok Airways
On 28th February, 2019 Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited announced their next development step by operating 02 direct flights from Chiang Mai-Krabi and Chiang Mai-Luang Prabang (Laos).
There’re 03 direct flights be operated every week (on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) from 31 Mar and increasing to a daily flight from 30 Apr onwards. Those routes will be serived by a 144- seater Airbus A319. The flight PG246 will depart from Chiang Mai International Airport at 12:00 and arrive Krabi International Airport at 13:55 (local time).
On the other hand, 03 direct flight from Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang (Laos) (Round-Trip) route will be operated with per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) with a 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft. The flight PG983 will depart Chiang Mai International Airport at 16:30 and arrive Luang Prabang International Airport at 17:45hrs whereas the flight PG984 will depart Luang Prabang International Airport 18:30 and arrive Chiang Mai International Airport at 19:45 (local time).
Bangkok Airways announced its planning to add more flights between Bangkok-Danang (Vietnam)
Accordingly, in order to meet the higher demand, on 7th February 2019, Bangkok Airways has added more non-stop flights between Bangkok and Danang (Vietnam), bringing this route to double daily flights from 1 March 2019 onwards. Those additional flights will be operated by a 144-seater Airbus A319.
The flight PG997 departs from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 16:20 and arrives to Danang International Airport at 18:05 whereas the flight PG998 departs from Danang International Airport at 18:55 and arrives to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 20:50 (local time).
